Ok, so I've been following this diet for quite some time and it works well for me. So, I'd like to share it with you guys and tell me what you think of it.

I eat five to six small balanced meals a day, and all of them are three to four hours apart. I drink a lot of water, at least one liter a day, but I usually try for three liters, and when I find it difficult to drink just water, which I do from time to time I add lemon juice or lime juice because of the major benefits it has on the body. Benefits of Drinking Lemon Water I take cinnamon supplements for antioxidant purposes and healthier digestion. So, this is an example of my daily routine.

Morning:
Two pieces of whole wheat toast. (Plain.)
1 cup orange juice.

Snack:
Peanuts

Lunch:
Chicken Salad.

Snack:
Sunflower seeds.

Dinner:
Fruit Salad.

Another example:

Morning:
Instant Oatmeal with raisins.

Snack:
One tablespoon peanut butter.

Lunch:
Some type of sandwich on whole wheat bread.

Snack:
Welches Dried Fruit packs.

Dinner:
A bowl of special K fruit and yogurt.

So, any suggestions or comments or anything would be appreciated, I'm not exactly sure if this is the best diet, but it has certainly helped me keep any unwanted weight off.[/url]

I have no idea how big you are or what your activity level so I can't comment on quantities, but this diet is carb heavy. Peanuts are ok, but other nuts are better food sources. You should look into increasing your fat and protein intake.

eg your first breakfast has little to no protein or fat in it at all. It's almost completely carbohydrates. (a decent chunk being simple sugars in the form of orange juice). Get some quality protein and fat and reduce or eliminate the toast and you'll see better results. The fruit salad for dinner is the same situation. Fruits are a good micro nutrient source, but have a high sugar content so should be minimized.

Getting the protein, fat, carb ratios down with the proper quantities will make a huge difference in keeping lean bodymass where it should be and eliminating any excess fat storage.

I am Five feet five inches, and I weigh one hundred and ten. My activity differs depending upon the day. I have dance Monday through Wednesday and will have gymnastics four days a week. I dance from 3:30 to 6:30, but those hours will be decreasing whenever I start a new gym.

Glucose are the simple sugars you get from fruits and such right? I don't know too much about nutrition, I just know that the nutritionist I went to one time told me to get cinnamon because it aids in glucose digestion and is also A-Ox.

What would you recommend as a diet? Could you give me some ideas as to what foods to eat?

Most fruits contain primarily fructose. Plant sugar. Glucose and sucrose are different sugars. All of which you want to minimize.

Eat vegitables, meat, nuts, seeds little bit of fruit, little starch no sugar. This is the quick answer. Specifically you want to be around 40% carb, 30% protein, 30% fat with most of your carbs coming from veggies. Get your fat from good monounsaturated sources (avacados, olive oil, nuts, etc).

Make sure that peanut butter doesn't have hydrogenated oil in it. It will block the absorption of the good fats and do plenty of other ghastly things. They say that the substance is pretty close to plastic. That's all I have to say. Get the natural kind if you like it a lot.

Hey, TipGuy,
Isn't it amazing that, as bad as American's diets are, the body still finds a way to nourish itself? Even though the rate of sickness has gone up from all the processing etc. and most of us feel awful and tired and stuff we still do survive on all the crud. I mean, where the heck is it getting the nutrients to perform basic bodily functions now?? How have we gone so long living on this stuff? The more I read about allllll the different nutrients our body needs everyday the more baffling it seems to me that we can survive on what most of us eat.
I was talking to my Mom about this and she said she wasn't sure how it works but knows that the body is an amazing organism.
It sure beats me how the body does it.
What do you think?

The chemical processes that occur in animals, particularly human, for digestion and nutrient absorption are nothing short of extraordinary. They are extremely complex, yet simple in concept. We are able to extract what we need from the worst of sources, yet we only flourish if we do it properly.
